User Manual
It is recommended that you first read the Quick Setup Guide. This shows you how to set up your camera using
Peer to Peer (P2P). This setup method is extremely fast and easy, and will get you set up in a matter of
minutes. You can then refer to this Owner’s Manual for more advanced features.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The various screens throughout this owner’s manual will look different depending on the browser you use. Full
functionality is available when using Internet Explorer (IE) with ActiveX (OCX) installed. Limited functionality is
available with other browsers, such as Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.
Please Read this manual carefully, according to the browser you are using.
This is an integrated wireless IP Camera solution. It combines a high quality digital Video Camera with network
connectivity and a powerful web server to bring clear pictures to your Desktop from anywhere on your local
network or over the Internet.
The main function of the camera is to transmit remote video over IP network. The high quality video image can
be transmitted with 30fps speed on the LAN/WAN by using MJPEG hardware compression technology. It is
based on the TCP/IP standard, build-in WEB server which supports Internet Explorer. Therefore the
management and maintenance of your camera becomes simple by using the network to achieve the remote
configuration, start-up and to upgrade firmware.
You can use your IP Camera to monitor your home or your office. Also, controlling and managing images are
simple by visiting the web site.
Possible challenges associated with option 1:
The storage shed is a steel enclosure and it may be difficult to pick up a cell signal from inside where the system is to be placed.
The Internet connection may not be up to the camera requirements. One manufacturer recommends:
With high-definition video that is 3x sharper than standard-definition, you should take a moment to ensure that your Internet connection is fast enough to handle the increased video size. We recommend 0.5Mbps upload for each camera you wish to view from outside your home. We also recommend you run the test from your mobile device on your cell network and any WiFi networks that you plan to use to view your HD camera. Those networks should provide at least 0.5Mbps download speed.
It may be unwise to display the camera feed on the Club's web site because it would require up to 0.5 Mbps to upload the feed. Fortunately most of the camera can be set to only upload when requested. A $10 per month plan would give 100 Mb which translates into 3 minutes of viewing time per month.
This figure could be dramatically improved by setting the camera to successively lower resolutions and frame rates from the 1280X1024 and 3 frames per second. By resorting to minimum values (320X240 1 FPS), the viewing time would be increased to 2 hours and 24 minutes which is more reasonable from a security monitoring standpoint.
Minimum cost: A minimum system would cost $200 and $10 per month for a two year contract.
